Safe & Non-judgemental

Safe and non-judgmental environments are crucial for fostering personal growth, learning, and well-being. Such environments are characterised by acceptance, understanding, and respect, free from critical or disparaging evaluations. We create a safe, happy and healthy home life for our young people where, open conversations are encouraged, and healthy debates are allowing safe expressions and honest feedback systems.

Our home is a diverse and inclusive environment where all backgrounds, religions, cultures are respected. Our Care plans are tailored to meet the individual needs of each young person, considering their unique backgrounds and experiences. This personalized approach helps ensure that all our young people receive the support they need to thrive. Personal development and learning are essential aspects of growth and self-improvement. Personal development is something we focus on closely with all our young people as ensuring you become the best version of yourself is our priority. This can include independence, education, employment, religion and culture, money and budgeting- we support with almost everything!

Client led 

Within Prefer Homes we encourage the active involvement of young people in shaping their own care and support services. This approach ensures that the needs, preferences, and voices of young people are central to the planning and delivery of their support. We focus on tailoring support to the individual needs and preferences of young people. We hold client-led breaking down barrier meetings where all young people can voice their opinions and feelings freely, this gives our team a focus to work on to ensure their needs are met.

The Rights of the Child or Young Person

The young peoples rights and entitlements are fundamental for their development, well-being, and dignity. Recognizing and upholding these rights is crucial for creating an environment where children can thrive. Our team always ensure that every child is aware of their personal entitlements and multi-agency teams come together to guarantee each child gets what they need and deserve.

Safeguarding

Our main priority is ensuring the home and environment we provide is a safe, protected place for our children to live comfortably. We are Ofsted regulated therefore follow all their guidance and quality standards including the protection standard. This ensures that young people are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted. We identify and assess risks to each young person’s safety and well-being and implement strategies to manage and mitigate these risks effectively.

Integrity; Openness; Transparency and Respect

Integrity: This is about doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It's the foundation of trust and reliability.
