While each individual contributes something distinct, they all work collaboratively to provide exceptional support to those in our care.

Sharon Taylor
Registered Manager
My name is Sharon Taylor, and I am the Registered Manager of Prefer Homes. I have multiple years’ experience within the supported accommodation sector and am committed to ensuring young people are given the chances they deserve.

Amelia Hall
Deputy Manager
My name is Amelia Hall, and I am Deputy Manager of Prefer Homes. I have gained my Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Management qualification. I take great pride in the training and development of myself and the team, and I have gained other qualifications in complex trauma and PTSD, Designated person for safeguarding children, De-escalation and breakaway, and other amazing training courses which have shaped my approach in supporting the young people to reach their full potential. I am driven to continually improve our service, ensuring every young person feels valued, heard, and fully prepared for their future.

Jacqui Edge
Early Intervention Practitioner
My name is Jacqui, I am highly committed to supporting young people as they transition from care into independent living. I take a person-centred approach, focusing on building confidence, resilience, and practical life skills to help our young people achieve positive outcomes. I have completed a wide range of specialist training which includes early intervention practioner level 4 - nerodiversity - trauma enforned practices, PACE- ADHD awareness, conflict management, de-escalation techniques along with other role-specific courses. This has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to deliver informed, empathetic, and effective support to young people with diverse and complex needs.

Tonya McCarrick
Senior Support Youth Worker
My name is Tonya McCarrick, and I am a Senior Support Youth Worker at Prefer Homes. I recently completed my Level 3 qualification in Youth Work Practice, further strengthening my professional foundation in supporting young people. I have completed a wide range of specialist training, including ADHD awareness, Neurodiversity, and Conflict Management & De escalation, alongside many other courses relevant to my role. These skills enable me to provide informed, compassionate, and effective support to young people with diverse needs. I am committed to equipping young people with the support, guidance, and practical skills they need to move forward and begin the next stage of their lives. I draw on the knowledge and training I have gained to help them build confidence, resilience, and independence.

Lauren Quye
Family & Young People's Practitioner
My name is Lauren, I am currently doing a level 4 course to become a child, young people and family’s practitioner whilst working as a day time support worker. I am passionate in the role I am currently doing, as I love helping and supporting individuals. I aspire to make differences in people’s lives.

Waking Nights Support Worker
My name Is Jade Kemp, I have worked at Prefer Homes for close to 1 year. During my time here, I have gained experience through online learning and on the job training, which has helped me
provide the right guidance, support and practical assistance to those transitioning into adulthood. I enjoy the role because I’m helping people develop and gain new life skills for when they leave the project.

Armstrong Ukaga
Waking Night Support Worker
My name is Armstrong Ukaga, and I work as a Waking Night Support Worker at Prefer Homes. I am deeply committed to empowering young individuals to live fulfilling lives and develop independent living skills that will support their future success. With a diverse background in support, care, and IT, I bring a well-rounded approach to my role. I am pursuing a Masters degree in Cybersecurity at Teesside University, where I aim to apply my growing technical skills to enhance the quality and safety of
the support services I provide.

Olivia Hall
Young Persons Support Worker
My name is Olivia Hall. I’m a dedicated Young Persons Support Worker at Prefer Homes, where I’ve been supporting young people for nearly two years. I’ve completed my Level 2 apprenticeship and am excited to continue learning and developing through further training. Alongside my support role, I also help with admin tasks and contribute to managing our social media. I genuinely love what I do and feel passionate about supporting young people to build independence, grow in confidence, and create positive futures. Being part of their journey and making a difference in their lives is what inspires me every day.
Qualifications
